WANA Initiative

The MENA Initiative examines the key issues facing West Asia and North Africa and works to promote a greater understanding of such a misrepresented region.

The Middle East is a region plagued with violence, autocracies, and failing economies, in a seemingly endless cycle of conflict. Through discussions and debates at the IOP and PAX, the Program creates an open platform to talk about the deepest struggles of the region, from religion to power politics to revolution & uprising.

Through critical examination of the varying political issues in the Levant, Caucuses, Arabian Peninsula, and North Africa, we will develop deeper understandings necessary to build solutions and end the prejudices that face the discourse of the region in Western society.
